Jonathan P. (“JP”) Allen is a Professor at the School of Management, University of San Francisco.
JP’s teaching and research has received multiple awards, including a Fulbright award, and the Innovation in Teaching award from the Association for Information Systems. He was the founding department chair of the Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship department at USF.
Previously, JP was a faculty member at the University of Cambridge and Purdue University. He has been a visiting professor in Portugal, Sweden, Germany, the UK, Australia, and Brazil. JP has a PhD in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine, and degrees in Computer Engineering and Mathematics from UC Santa Cruz. JP grew up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and attended high school in Switzerland and Greece. His first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80 PC-1 Pocket Computer.
JP is the author of Technology and Inequality: Concentrated Wealth in a Digital World (Palgrave Macmillan) and more than a few academic papers.
